Bike Tour

Yes, we did it - we bought a bike trailer!!!
After several successful trials with the borrowed trailer, Kamil and I were convinced that Anna enjoys riding with us. So we went to Berlin to the biggest bike center of Germany. They really have a vast selection of bikes, equipment and trailers. It is amazing how many different models of trailers exist - this does not make a decision any easier... After long consultation and exhaustive discussions we selected the "Chariot Cougar 2".
And so we set up for our first day journey along the river Havel, from Potsdam north to Wannsee and back:

Anna slept during most of the ride, and when she awoke, we made a short break which she enjoyed very much:

Getting ready for putting her feet into the water:

Yep, she likes it! (Quite different from her very first water experience five months ago in Taiwan...)

At the end of our trip, we stopped for a bit to eat at the Bürgershof, a very nice location offering tasty food, cool drinks, live music and plenty of space:

Kamil got so hungry that he was about to eat Anna's feet - which made her giggling!

Now, we are looking forward to our next bike excursions around Potsdam. If the weather permits, we want to discover the route along the river Havel, but towards the south. We will keep you updated!

First Try

Kamil is longing for an extended "operating range" of our family excursions and therefor is dreaming of putting Anna in a bike trailer. This would enable us to start discovering Potsdam and its surroundings by bike. But as Anna at the moment is very much disliking being put in her stroller, I was fearing that this would be the same case with a bike stroller. So before we are buying one of these darned expensive trailers (they are still very expensive second-hand on ebay!), I wanted to test Anna's compatibility with this new carrier-method. Friends of ours, while enjoying a vacation on the Ostsee, lent us their bike trailer for this week.
And mysteriously, it seems that Anna took a liking in the bike trailer! We tried it twice so far and both times passed without big screaming and without any tears.

What a happy father Kamil is now!!! So cross your fingers that Anna remains that cooperative during this week!

For now, it is me who is pulling the bike trailer to give Anna the assured feeling being close to her mother. But I hope that next time, she also will accept Kamil pulling the trailer - that's what I am dreaming of!

Thunderstorm

Due to last week's warm weather, we got a lot of thunderstorms in the evenings. These offered quite some spectacular views on the sky, especially out from out roof-top windows. These clouds really look like they were painted.

Happy Anna is watching the storms from the safety of Daddy shoulders.
