Easter in Innsbruck

After a long break in writing posts on our blog site, I again resume telling you some news about us. The reason for this long period of quiescence were our Easter holidays, which we spent in Innsbruck with our families. (Now being back I have to deal with a completely spoiled daughter who got used to be carried around and being cared for all the time by both her grand-parents... argh!)
We had a great time back in our home town, with magnificent and warm weather, ...

... great food " a la mamma", and plenty visits of our friends. Andreas and Friederike, for instance, came from Switzerland to meet us here, and we took the opportunity to go for a small hike with them up to the restaurant "Rauschbrunnen" above Innsbruck:

Daddy got an overdose of fresh mountain air:

And we made a real snowman for Anna, her very first one. I hope she appreciates him, because I made him with my bare hands as I did not bring my gloves - uh, after our Taiwan experience, I had forgotten how cold snow is!

Buggy Race

Last Sunday, we met with two other young families and went together on a hike from Potsdam to Wannsee. Ten beautiful kilometers along the Havel and its lakes:

Here is our group: Alex and Guido with Julius, Maria and Mason with Darius and the three of us. We very much enjoyed the company! And no, our topics were not exclusively child-related (although clearly dominated by such...)!

Sundays are clearly Daddy-days: Proud daddies pushing the baby strollers with smiling mothers along their side, which are happy not to have to push the buggy like any other days! So here are three examples of this rare species:

Spring Pick Nick

Spring came to Potsdam last week with very warm temperatures and lots of sun! It was a great week being outside and enjoying the warmth of the sun after some rather cold weeks since we arrived here. Spring feeling infected many people here in Potsdam as they sit outside of cafés and bars and eat enormous amounts of ice cream at air temperatures where people in Taiwan would still wear down jackets. This shows how differently people perceive temperatures depending on a countries climate.
On Friday evening, I ordered Kamil to come home on time at 6 pm (... well, of course it was a bit later until he really was at home...) and prepared some sandwiches and yummy food, nicely packed in a pick nick basket. I even thought of preparing a bottle of beer for my best husband! And off we went to the Babelsberg Park to enjoy a pick nick watching the sunset over the river Havel.

It can also turn into a Napoleon's hat...

... or a pirate's hat!

Babcia i Dziadzio na odwiedzinach

Kamil's parents came for a visit last weekend. The prime reason of their visit was of course to finally meet Anna. Micha and I ranked only second and third on their priority list :-)
