At the Family Table

Since a few weeks, Florian sits on a high chair at our kitchen table. It feels like he is now a full member of the family having his "ancestral" place at the table! While the rest of the family is having its meals, he now eats his beloved (but truly tasteless) rice crackers or plays with a spoon - right here next to us. That makes him very happy - and we can dine undisturbed!

Pentecost Vacations 2011...

... or "Happy Kids":
(Darius, Anna and Arne eating cookies and watching Mason fooling around!)

One week ago, we repeated last year's Pentecost vacation in Wittenhagen - same place, same time (well, at least same holidays), same people. This is true - even though last year, our three youngsters were still well-packed...
And now, here they are - Florian (6 months), Helge (7 months) and Armin (8 months) with their proud dads:
We had a splendid time their - the kids enjoying the huge garden to the uttermost extend, running, jumping, biking, climbing, plashing, playing in the sand,...
We brought two tents, in which Arne and his dad and Anna and Kamil were sleeping - an exciting and well-appreciated new experience for the kids!
Eating ice-cream always was a high-light!
And like last year - the rocking chair was perfect to sooth the babies!

Various Pics of Grandma's visit

Having a grandma visiting always is very delightful - for the kids as they have a superb playmate, story teller and lullaby singer! - And of course for me, thus having finally some time to do "proper" cleaning in the flat, to quickly shop for some long needed clothes and to drop by the hair dresser. (Exciting things, aren't they?)
I really long for the next visit of a grandma!!!
Thanks so much for coming, mum!!!

And here are some more pictures taken recently:

"Firsties"

We had a few "firsties" lately, so here we present some pictures of these exciting events!

1) Florian started to crawl!!! Yippieh!

2) Anna was riding a pony!
Inspired by her cousin Judith, Anna told us, that she, too, wanted to ride a horse. Last week, we grasped the chance to let her sit on a pony when visiting a nice cafe located in an old farmhouse, where they had plenty of animals and some ponies as well.

3) Florian got his first baby food!
I had hoped to postpone the "mush area" for a while, but Florian gave us really clear signs that he disliked the idea! He literally went bananas when there was some food on the table... Finally, I backed down and introduced some baby food for him. So far, he likes his carrot mush, eating greater quantities every day.

and 4) Anna was at the hair dresser!
Was this well behaving and silently sitting young lady really my girl at the hair dresser's? I was amazed to see her having her hair cut without moving! (Though due to her curls, you hardly see the new hair style...)

Weekend Picknick

Variatio delectat! - therefore we took our bikes this weekend to the Glienicker Park instead of the well-known and frequently visited Babelsberg Park. The Glienicker Park is situated just north of the Babelsberg Park, but remarkably fewer people enjoy its beautiful landscape and forest. Nonetheless we spend some nice time there, appreciating the quiescence (apart from our kids...), the sounds of birds (if heard through the kids' squeaking) and the green nature (if not distracted due to minor and major catastrophes induced by a two-and-half year old and her little brother).

Various Pics from May

Nothing special happened - we had some calm weeks enjoying our daily routine! I really appreciate this because daily routine never is boring having two small kids at home...
So I'm just posting some pictures here taken these last weeks.
I start with this blurry one - to capture this funny situation I had no time to adjust my camera to the appropriate sensitivity:
Florian is already very interested in food - poor boy, his mother will let him wait for four more weeks before entering the longed for mash-stage....
Kamil and his kids:
Reading books is a highly valued activity for Anna as for Florian (though he rather likes to chew on the books...)
Having fun standing and jumping on daddy's knees:

Easter Report

Anna's new best friend is Mr Easter Rabbit! Not only did he hide some chocolate, Easter eggs and a trainer bike for Anna in our living room...
...he also hid lots of chocolate eggs in the Park. Anna and her friends Arne and Darius were thrilled to search for these treasures - and to eat them all at once!!!
The rest of us meanwhile was relaxing on picnic blankets in the middle of the green nature - a truly successful Easter Sunday afternoon!
(Next time in the Park, Anna disappointingly asked: "No chocolate eggs?"... Nope - not until next year, my dear!)
